Pairing Your Polar H7 or Other BLE Compatible Heart Rate Monitor (Android)

(For the iOS version click here)

I am a big believer in fate. More than simple serendipity has brought you and your heart rate monitor together. It is your Destiny, and the only time you turn your back on Destiny is if she is an angry and abusive “dancer” at a bar with an exotic animal in the name. Fulfill your fate, and pair your favorite BLE compatible heart rate monitor (HRM) with everyone’s favorite fitness trackers, the apps that put Cardio on the map, Fitdigits iCardio and iRunner for Android.

It is essential to make a gentle first contact with the HRM; do not make any sudden movements as to scare it. Lightly dab water, saliva, or gel onto the underside of the monitor to strengthen the electrode connection. See, now you and the belt have some real chemistry going. Next, put the strap on, placing it on the top of your ribcage right below your chest.

Make sure Bluetooth is turned on in the device in order to pair. Oh, and make sure you bought the upgrade to Pro to enable sensors!

In the app:

1. Tap Settings > My Sensors
2. Tap Add a Sensor: Heart Rate Monitor
3. Tap Auto Detect HRM
4. The app will scan – when it finds the HRM, tap on it to pair.

That’s it! If you want more information on the Heart Rate Monitor you can tap on it after it is paired, delete it there (or tap and hold on the HRM in the list on the sensors page).

Start a workout wearing your HRM and you are ready to finally realize your health and fitness destiny!
